The Perfect Christmas Gift For A Teenager

It Might Just Be A Whole Lot Easier To Find Than You Think!

For some reason, a lot of people ask for my opinion on what makes a good

Christmas gift for a teenager, as though I would be sure to know. The

problem is that, although I have four teenagers, three daughters and a

son, I can not be responsible for what other people buy for their kids.

I mean, let's get real. There are a 'gazillion' Christmas gift ideas out

there, and even if teenagers do all tend to dress the same, no two of them

are exactly alike.

Christmas gifts for teenagers, like teenagers

themselves, are all different, and so you should really talk to your own

kid about what presents they might want for Christmas. Teens are usually

pretty forthcoming about gifts.

Of course, you might not be able to talk about your Christmas gift for a

teenager if your idea is to completely surprise them when Christmas Day

arrives. This can be great fun, and I strongly recommend it. If you can

catch a teen unawares with something that they have really wanted, but

not gotten around to asking for, it can make for such a rewarding festive

occasion.

Of course, what makes the perfect surprise Christmas gift for

a teenager is anyones' guess. For a lot of girls, a piece of jewelry

that they have never seen before might just be the perfect teenage

Christmas gift. For boys, in contrast, they might want a new gadget or

boy's toy, such as an mp3 or mp4 player, or a GPS system for their car.

I think that it comes down to knowing the teenager you are buying for,

their interests and passions. Even then you may still have to sound

your child(ren) out to figure out the right Christmas gift for your

teenager(s).

It is not like there is some magic 'Christmas-gift-for-a-teenager' formula that will give you the right

answer or idea. ( Oh, for that to have been invented.)

The importance with any Christmas gift-idea for a teenager is the same

as what is important for any Christmas gift.

It has to be from the heart.

If you take the time to find something that you think your teen

will want and cherish, they will appreciate it, and, the chances are, it

will probably be a whole lot more useful and in much better taste than

anything that they would have bought for themselves. The fact is that,

as long as your Christmas gift for a teenager is from you, they will

like it, because that's what the holidays are for, after all, spending

time with the family and friends, and enjoying your time together.

And 'time spent together' is perhaps the 'one perfect gift' that will

always 'fit' every teenager, whether they fully appreciate it now, or

later in life, they will have those good times to look back on, regardless of what the 'gift for your teenager' may have been, in any particular year.

The things that memories are made of, are not 'things', they are occasions when you spend time together and enjoy that 'togetherness'.
